Parts & Gear - may use in future

Manufacturers and suppliers of aftermarket gear, equipment and components that we have installed and are pleased with ...

... all this for improved vehicle durability, reliability, drive-ability, safety and comfort.

Improved load carrying capability and driveability, less body sway. Review

Bridgestone

Tires are A/T 275/70r/18 E load. We blew a tire at a time when all tires were near the end of their tread life, so we chose to replace all. Unfortunately, we did'nt have any options for tire selection at our location. Given a choice I would have picked Nitto Terra A/T 295/70r/18.

Their fender guards will protect the FORDs' body from road debris on rough or gravel roads and improve overall appearance.

Curt Manufacturing

We use the Garmin Montana 600 for backcountry trips and as a backup device for urban travel. We use the Garmin RV760MLT as our primary navigation device while driving. Review

The factory Ford rear anti-sway bar couldn't control the added body sway, caused by hauling a top-heavy, 4000# camper. Hellwigs' Big Wig anti-sway bar (rear) was the solution.

Lifetime, washable air filters that claim to improve fuel economy.

We've switched from dangling bikes on the exterior of our rig to carrying them safely and securely on the inside ... and, we sure do prefer it this way! Review

PIAA

To see and be seen, we added a couple of auxiliary lights ... 520 ATP Extreme White.

A brush and stone guard covers the front grill area ... headlights, radiator and transmission cooler are protected against minor collisions with animals, damage from flying debris and encounters with brush, trees and rocks.

Spy Tec

Dash Cam for video and stills.

Each spring setup is rated at 5000#. We've set the springs to the middle of three settings. Sag has been eliminated in the rear and sway is less noticeable. Review

Lockable towers and bars that fit to the roof of the Ford when the Lance is off-loaded. The bars accept the Yakima rollers and saddles for kayak transport. We have an older set of towers that are probably close to 20 years old. They're road weary and worn but they've never failed us. The gear is expensive but worth the cost in the long run.

We have used their kayak roller and saddle system for many years. Robust, secure, reasonably priced.
